The Namibian Savannah is facing a bush encroachment crisis covering an area the size of Sweden. Driven by overgrazing and climate change, the thorny bush is rapidly spreading, choking out native plant species, harming biodiversity, reducing agricultural productivity, and impacting groundwater recharge.

This Puro.earth-certified project, a collaboration between Planboo and Carbon Capital, is sustainably harvesting the overgrown bush and converting it into biochar at scale.
